{"id":71,"date":"2022-08-03T06:44:56","date_gmt":"2022-08-03T06:44:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/172.16.1.4\/wordpress\/?p=71"},"modified":"2023-03-29T03:11:56","modified_gmt":"2023-03-29T03:11:56","slug":"simplcut","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jfsteiner.com\/?p=71","title":{"rendered":"simplcut"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>simplcut is an extension of the simpl scattering kernel<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-white-color has-text-color\"><strong><span style=\"color:#d007af\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Important Note! <\/span><\/strong> &#8211;<span style=\"color:#aa1a1a\" class=\"has-inline-color\"> <\/span><strong><span style=\"color:#1aa83e\" class=\"has-inline-color\">For either simpl or simplcut, you should use the &#8220;energies&#8221; command to define a broad energy grid over which the photons are redistributed.<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color:#aa1a1a\" class=\"has-inline-color\"><strong> <\/strong> <\/span>This should sufficiently cover both the seed distribution and ideally extend above a high-energy cutoff.  E.g., <strong>&#8220;energies 0.01 1000. 1000 log&#8221;<\/strong>  gives ~1% energy resolution in the grid from 10eV to 1 MeV.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The model parameters are given below:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Gamma&nbsp;&nbsp; (spectral index)<br>2.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; fsc &nbsp;&nbsp; (scattered fraction)<strong><\/strong><br>3.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; ReflFrac&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; (Reflection Fraction. Negative values omit the transmitted and return just the scattered spectrum.)<strong><\/strong><br>4.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Energy Turnover&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; (Exponential cutoff E<sub>cut<\/sub>&nbsp;when negative, kT<sub>e<\/sub>&nbsp;when positive using nthcomp as an engine.)<strong><\/strong><br><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>simplcut can be compiled using &#8220;xspec &#8211; go&#8221; from the command line in the installation directory.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; A tarball of the package is provided below.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Model Files :<\/strong><br><a href=\"https:\/\/jfsteiner.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/public_simplcut.tar\" data-type=\"URL\">simplcut-package<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>simplcut is an extension of the simpl scattering kernel.
